Brief Description: Baggage compartment covers

I wanted to enclose the baggage compartment area to keep articles from falling into the tailcone or hitting me in the head in the case of severe turbulance. My solution was to make fabric covers to enclose the compartment. After cutting out the blanks, my wife was kind enough to do the required sewing. Additional velcro was sewed to the top of the Sonex baggage compartment to secure the bottom of the covers. The aft cover is secured on the top and sides with snaps and is Velcro'd across the bottom to the baggage compartment. The forward cover is also secured with snaps and Velcro. The forward cover also has a center zipper for easy access and has slots for the seatbelts to penetrate at the appropriate position. Added advantage is the added volume of the baggage area. Although still limited to 20 pounds, larger bulky items like camping gear can be carried.
